1、What is POM plastic?

POM plastic is a kind of engineering thermoplastic with excellent comprehensive performance, with good mechanical properties, low coefficient of friction and good dimensional stability and other excellent characteristics.POM plastic has high strength and high hardness making it suitable for different applications. It has a low coefficient of friction, making it ideal for parts requiring sliding or rotary motion such as gears, bearings and bushings. Good mechanical strength, dimensional stability, chemical resistance and low coefficient of friction make it a widely used material for engineering applications. As the plastics industry continues to develop, POM plastic will appear in many other applications in the future, thus contributing to improvements in many other areas.

2、Difficulties and solutions of POM sheet processing

This time our customers want us to process the POM sheet, the size of 800 * 900mm, an area of 0.72 square meters, the flatness requirement after processing is within 0.1mm. Due to the complexity of the texture, the amount of processing work is large, coupled with the possibility of bending and deformation of the POM plate during processing, a little inattention will not meet the flatness requirements. 

At the beginning, we tried to process directly, but did not meet the flatness requirements; the second processing, we used vacuum suction cups to fix the plastic plate to prevent deformation during processing and damage to the workpiece, but still unsuccessful; the last attempt, we used heavy objects to flatten this plastic plate after processing, and finally met the flatness requirements.
