In the previous article, we solved the problem of injection molding of medical devices represented by laryngoscope through our previous accumulated technical experience, and successfully completed the customer's order. After that, we have successively completed the medical device injection molding such as syringes. However, these orders are very different from the guideway we are going to talk about today, and the technical difficulty is even greater than the laryngoscope.

First of all, the shape is complicated: the length of this section of the guide rail is 11 centimeters, but the width is less than 3 millimeters, the thickness is only about 1.1 millimeters, and even more difficult is that, according to the design of the drawings, there are two holes at the end of the product. The product is small in size and light in weight, and the weight of a single guide rail is lighter than 0.3 grams.

 

Secondly, the tolerance requirements are strict: according to the customer's requirements, the tolerance of the product needs to be controlled within 0.02mm, and the roughness is required to be within 0.05. Considering that the volume of the product itself is very small, higher precision is required when making the mold.

 

Thirdly, the material is unfamiliar: the material for injection molding this time is PARA, and we are more familiar with PPSU, PEEK, LCP and other materials, but we have never tried to do PARA injection molding, even if there is a physical properties table, we need to be more careful to control various conditions during injection molding in order to make a good product.

 

In order to satisfy the needs of our customers, our engineers have done a lot of research and design work. For the first two points, we have to control the tolerance when we make the mold, and now we have been able to control the tolerance of the molded parts within 0.003mm. As for the unfamiliar material, we finally figured out the performance of PARA injection molding on the basis of the existing physical property table, by consulting the information, asking the counterparts and many times test, and successfully completed the order.
